Dedicated in 2014 along the Riverwalk near the Naperville Park District administrative center by artist Dale Rogers, Best Friends commemorates the Naperville Area Humane Society’s 35th anniversary milestone. The plaque recognizes founder Ardis McCallion who established the Naperville Area Humane Society in 1979, as well as founding member Cleo Keller.

Both women, deserving of accolades, celebrated their 90th birthdays in 2014. Made with Cor-Ten Steel which oxidizes over time, the material variety adds dimension and depth to this whimsical sculpture composed of organic and simple elements.
