Parade of the Century (2010)

This silhouette mural revisits scenes from the early 1900s, progressing through time to the present day. The artist Adela Vystejnova was inspired by early sepia-tone photographs of parades, which gradually transitioned to black-and-white photography. Vystejnova maintained this visual language of early media to reflect the historical context more authentically.

Hundreds of spectators on the opposite wall of the alley celebrate the passing parade in Century Walk’s 41st piece titled Naperville Loves a Parade.

Artist | Adela Vystejnova

Location | North wall of Rubin’s Way alley, 255 S Main St, Naperville, IL 60540
