Among the tall prairie grasses and native flowers that grow along the rails, two mechanical children follow the train on a handcar. On the sidewalk below, interested visitors may stop to turn wheels and push levers that make the sculpture come to life. The train’s bell clangs, its brightly painted wheels spin, and the puppet-like children rhythmically pump the pivoting arm of their handcar.
