Officer Friendly (2007)

This sculpture honors the Naperville police officer and beloved former mayor, George Pradel. After joining the police force in 1966, Pradel advocated for local youth, dedicated to teaching young people about safety and personal accountability. Through continued involvement with local schools, Pradel developed an educational curriculum and started a miniature safety town for safety and health-related programs. Years later, a grateful community recognized A. George Pradel’s devotion to the community and elected him to four terms as Naperville’s mayor.
