The Way We Were (2005)

Gone but not forgotten – local artists  created this nostalgic mural to recall some of Naperville’s favorite downtown businesses. The lifelike trompe l’oeil images engage viewers in the daily life of the 1960s when the town’s population was less than 22,000. The scenes restore memories of bygone times featuring teens gathered outside Naper Theater below movie posters of Mary Poppins and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and a paperboy chased by his dog as he rides a Schwinn Sting-Ray past City Hall.
